God consists of Spirit and of substance. Mankind is a Creation of these two aspects of God, consisting of both His Spirit and His Substance. Birthed from the universe (Substance), came all forms of life on earth. Darwinian evolution may in fact offer an explanation of how we (Mankind) actually came to form "from" the earth.
After all things had been created, man was formed "Last". I believe God gave mankind life through His Spirit (Love), whereby mankind became "Living Souls" having dominion over all the earth. Scripture tells us that God is Love, so His Spirit must be Love also. With this new power came a price, however (Self will). No longer were we to act on Instinct (As animals do) but on our own vocation, with the understanding that we were to govern by the Spirit (Love) which He breathed into our nostrils, whereby we became living souls. We were created in His image, so we might be the caretakers of all His creation. We were to be care takers, and were never meant to rule over one another.
We were given power and dominion over all the earth. Even so, the power we had been given soon became too tempting to not take advantage of, thus we no longer acted on the Love He put in our midst (Hearts) but on selfish desire to rule over one another. We simply wanted control, therefore fell out of God's will for us. Hence the fall of man out of God's Kingdom "Eden" (Paradise).
In the beginning, there were two trees in the "midst" of the garden.
1) The Tree of Life - God's Will
2) The Tree of Knowledge - Man's will
Man chose His own Will (Selfish Desire) over God's will, and we are today still paying for our disobedience to God (Who is Love). Why? Because mankind has become Selfish, and acts on lust rather than Love. Jesus showed us the way back into the Kingdom (To live with a pure and Selfless Love for God and for all His Creation). The two trees in the midst of the garden represent two contrasting (ways) of life.
1) Mankind living as caretakers through Gods Love whereby the goodness of life manifests on earth.
2) Mankind attempting to rule over one another through selfish will (lust) whereby evil manifests on earth.
One (Way) leads to life and the other (Way) leads to death. We are all essentially very good, but our selfish will (Self serving desires) are deceiving. Our self serving desires (Lust) was the (Way) evil manifest on earth. We came to know evil because we disobeyed God's law of Love, and chose self will (Lust) instead of Gods Will (Love). We can certainly get back to the garden (God's Kingdom) but in order to do so, we have to turn it over to Him, and allow ourselves to nurture His seed, which is Love that grows into a life giving tree.
Every man has been born with the seed of love in our midst. Even so, the state of the world quickly hinders the seeds growth, seemingly removing love from within us. But even in such times, the seed remains buried deep inside each of us waiting to be reawakened. Once it is awakened, we at times experience its beauty, but it cannot grow until the seed takes a deepness of root.
Once the roots have been established, we come to know love more deeply, and experience God's grace for a while. Even so, the world we live in, our pursuit for riches and pleasures, and worldly troubles choke the tender plant preventing loves to mature within us. But, when we figure out that life is not about riches or mere pleasures, or our selfish will, but about God (Who is love) and His will, the worries of life begin to fade, and we begin to mature in Gods grace, whereby the substance of this Spirit begins to manifest in our lives. We are then able to live through Gods Spirit of Love (The Tree of Life).
Some have matured in love, while others are still one the wayside. Even so, all of us have this seed within our hearts. We need to let God cultivate , and allow His Love to take root in us. If we let love rule in our lives, and let go of the need to be in control, God will make His Love grow in us, and we will come to know His grace. Jesus let Gods love rule in His heart and has become a faithful High Priest, reconciling mankind to the father. Jesus loves us all and is not willing that any should perish, but that all would be changed. God is Love. He loves each of us, and wishes for each man to know Him, and to choose His ways above our ways.
When we truly love, it no longer becomes about obedience, but life itself. We however, must allow God to cultivate our hearts, that we might let go of our lustful desires, and live in His Spirit. It begins with a willful choice made by us. When we desire to know Him, He will change our will into His will, and that is the beauty of Salvation. He chose us, so we might choose Him.
Christ did not come for those who are without sickness, but for those who are sick. If you refuse to recognize your own sickness (Lust) you are very unlikely to go to the physician. Likewise, if you recognize that you are in fact Ill (Lustful) you are much more likely to go to the physician. Christ Does not seek His own glory, but God's glory and God's glory is in His children, even as Jesus was Himself. You too are a child of God; let Him love you and you will know His joy, and peace, and happiness within yourself. As each person comes to know God, his kingdom ever increases on earth.
Our father in heaven, hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil
for thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen!
