Can a born-again, spirit-filled Christian be demonized?

 YES, A BORN-AGAIN, SPIRIT-FILLED BELIEVER CAN BE DEMONIZED.

      In order to accurately reveal the truth of this subject, this teaching is going to touch upon areas and reveal things which also reveal truths concerning other subjects which are a source of contention within the Body. This teaching will mainly focus on the question at hand and will only briefly mention other areas of revelation in passing.

 Saul was demonized:

 1 Samuel 14-16,23: Now the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD terrorized him. 15Saul's servants then said to him, "Behold now, an evil spirit from God is terrorizing you.16"Let our lord now command your servants who are before you. Let them seek a man who is a skillful player on the harp; and it shall come about when the evil spirit from God is on you, that he shall play the harp with his hand, and you will be well." 23So it came about whenever the evil spirit from God came to Saul, David would take the harp and play it with his hand; and Saul would be refreshed and be well, and the evil spirit would depart from him.

1 Samuel 18:10-11:  10Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God came mightily upon Saul, and he raved in the midst of the house, while David was playing the harp with his hand, as usual; and a spear was in Saul's hand. 11Saul hurled the spear for he thought, "I will pin David to the wall." But David escaped from his presence twice.

1 Samuel 19:9-10:9Now there was an evil spirit from the LORD on Saul as he was sitting in his house with his spear in his hand, and David was playing the harp with his hand.10Saul tried to pin David to the wall with the spear, but he slipped away out of Saul's presence, so that he stuck the spear into the wall. And David fled and escaped that night.

Saul was born-again, and Spirit filled:

 1 Samuel 10:6- 6"Then the Spirit of the LORD will come upon you mightily, and you shall prophesy with them and be changed into another man.

 1 Samuel 10:9-10: 9Then it happened when he turned his back to leave Samuel, God changed his heart; and all those signs came about on that day.  10When they came to the hill there, behold, a group of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him mightily, so that he prophesied among them.

     Many people have a great misunderstanding when it comes to the Old Testament and the New Testament. They don't realize that the things which our Lord did and taught all came from the Old Testament and nothing was done away with. The Truth of God was actually revealed. For instance:

Being born-again:

John 3:1-10: 1Now there was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews; 2this man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You have come from God as a teacher; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." 3Jesus answered and said to him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." 4Nicodemus said to Him, "How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born, can he?" 5Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6"That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7"Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8"The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit." 9Nicodemus said to Him, "How can these things be?" 10Jesus answered and said to him, "Are you the teacher of Israel and do not understand these things?

     Nicodemus was stumped by Jesus revelation of one being born-again. But the truth of the matter was that Jesus was simply bearing witness to the experience which everyone who enters into the Kingdom of God must and will experience as declared in different passages in the Old Testament. Jesus was simply giving definition to an experience which the people were blind to. Jesus wasn't sharing any new doctrine, just revealing the old for what it was. This is just one incident of our Lord demonstrating the meaning of Old Testament passages and stunning the people as if He was declaring something new. But the born-again experience was clearly described in 1 Samuel chapter 10.

In conclusion:

     From the cited passages, it's clear that born-again people can be demonized. What happens is that there are times when born-again people commit sin and open up a doorway/opportunity for a demon to take advantage of. When a born again person sins, the Holy Spirit withdraws from them. This is why when followers of the Christ sin, peace is taken away from them until they repent. The longer that they remain unrepentant, the longer they lose peace and it's also the longer that they are left exposed to demonic activity. The greater the sin and frequency of the sin, the larger the opportunity which the unclean spirits have to invade.

 A voice is calling,

 "Clear the way for the LORD in the wilderness;
  Make smooth in the desert a highway for our God.
  Let every valley be lifted up,
  And every mountain and hill be made low;
  And let the rough ground become a plain,
  And the rugged terrain a broad valley;
  Then the glory of the LORD will be revealed,
  And all flesh will see it together;
  For the mouth of the LORD has spoken."
